MRS. ANNIE MAE PEACOCK-TRAYLOR was born on April 29, 1931, in Jamestown, Texas to Fleming and Birdie Sells-Peacock. She was preceded in death by her three sons, Randolph Traylor, Kennard Ray Traylor, and Raymond Traylor Jr.; and two daughters, Patricia Traylor and Dale Verna Traylor-Forward.
She was preceded in death by her parents Fleming and Birdie Sells-Peacock. Brothers: Fred Peacock Sr., Ira Peacock Sr., James Booker Peacock (JB), James Tracy Peacock (JT), Leroy Peacock Sr., and Edward Peacock; Sisters: Sudie Mae Adams, Jewel Shankle, and Mildred Lewis.
Annie dedicated her life to the Lord at an early age at Iron Wheel Baptist Church in Jamestown, Texas, where she was a dedicated and faithful member. She served in many capacities such as being a member of the church choir, kitchen committee, Church Mission, and the summer lunch program because she enjoyed serving others.
Annie attended public school in Jamestown, Texas. Annie was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She married Raymond Traylor, Sr., on December 31, 1949. Reverend Elisher B. Adams officiated the ceremony. To this union, nine children were born.
Annie was the epitome of love, humility, compassion, and kindness. Jesus was her foundation, and she raised us to make Jesus our foundation as well. She embraced everyone and everyone felt her sweet spirit. Her passion included caring for others, being a caregiver, and fishing, of course. She loved taking Sunday drives throughout the community and the communities she grew up around.
Annie leaves to cherish her memories: Tyrone Traylor, Gail Green (Alvin) of Newton, TX, Beverly Dark of Humble, TX, and Patina Traylor of Houston, TX; four grandchildren, Troy Gatson, Tiffany Forward, Jasmine Dark, and Grace Wilson; two greatgrandchildren, Raymond Craig and Hannah Craig; one sister, Lula Faye Coleman; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends, as well as two faithful and loving providers, Marvin Ann Rogers and Marlena Falcon, whom she loved dearly.
