Anthony
Cauley
Nov 24, 1987 — Apr 28, 2025
With great anticipation and joy, Anthony Truvell Cauley was born on November 24, 1987, in Jasper, Texas, to George and Cynthia Renee Cauley. He entered the world weighing 6 lbs 14.5 oz with eyes that captured every heart. Anthony's roots were firmly planted in East Jasper, where he spent his formative years. He attended Jasper High School in Jasper, Texas, and furthered his education at Angelina College in Lufkin, Texas. At an early age, Anthony accepted Christ into his life and was baptized at Greater New Bethel Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Kenneth Lyons. His faith remained an essential part of his journey, and on March 20, 2011, he reaffirmed his devotion to Christ through a second baptism at Lufkin Assembly Church.
Following high school and college, Anthony stepped confidently into the workforce, where he quickly discovered his calling in public service as a correctional officer. His career was marked by integrity, diligence, and a deep sense of purpose. Over his eight years of service, his unwavering work ethic earned him multiple promotions and the admiration of his peers and superiors alike. Known for his punctuality, dependability, and kind heart, Anthony became affectionately known as a "gentle giant" — always ready with a warm smile and a helping hand. He often spoke of the pride and fulfillment he found in his work. To Anthony, his coworkers were more than just colleagues; they were a second family. Though not related by blood, their bond was built on mutual respect, shared purpose, and countless cherished memories.
Outside of work, Anthony was full of life and love. He loved taking peaceful walks by the water. Anthony became a published poet in 2005. He wrote the poem titled "I Love You" and his poem was published in the book Celebrate Your Poets. He was a lifelong avid fan of WWE wrestling, often attending live matches. He enjoyed playing video games, and most of all, treasured time spent making memories with his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his beloved grandparents, Esther Mae Crocket and Roy Diles; Kirby and Marie Cauley; aunt, Arita Smith; and his dear friend, Derrick Fowler. Anthony leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness. He is survived by his devoted parents, George and Cynthia Cauley; his brother, Meguel Irvine; uncles Wilbert Irvine and Johnny Mack Bailey; aunts Mable Moss, Opal Clark, Dr. Nell Austin (Pastor Vernon Austin), and Alfreda Simon; great-aunts Paula Tyler and Margie Brooks; and a host of cousins, relatives, extended family, friends, and colleagues who will forever cherish his memory.
A simple Obituary cannot fully encapsulate Anthony's life, but it serves as a tribute to a man who was greatly loved, and will be sorely missed. Anthony's life is a vivid picture of dedication and service, leaving others inspired by his big heart, and kindness.
