Sis Arthur Jean Simmons was born to the late Nathaniel Phillips Sr. and the late Noveleaner Phillips on January 8, 1954.

She grew up in the Curtis Community. She attended and graduated from Jasper High School in 1972. She united with Dixie Baptist Church at a young age and accepted Christ. Later, she continued serving the Lord at Miracle Deliverance Temple Church in Jasper, Texas.

She met and married Lester Simmons on February 23, 1974 and to this union, one child was born.

Sis. Arthur Jean was preceded in death by her Father, Nathaniel Phillips Sr., her Mother, Noveleaner Phillips; two brothers, Leroy Phillips, and Nathaniel Phillips Jr.; and four sisters, Arlene Barlow, Maurine Davis, Beatrice Adams, and Mary Middleton.

Sis. Arthur Jean leaves to cherish her memories; her husband, Lester Simmons; daughter, LaKisha Wade (Brandon); three grandsons, Zacchaeus Simmons, Brantavian and Jamarian Wade; a devoted sister-in-law, Mary Simmons, all of Jasper, TX, and a host of nephews, nieces, aunts, brother and sister in-laws, other relatives, and friends.
