Early Sunday morning, God called Miss Betty Jean Payne home to be with Him. She was a gentle, kind, loving person to all who knew her. Betty attended J.H. Rowe High School. She united with the Evergreen Missionary Baptist Church and was a faithful member until her health failed her.

Betty Jean Payne was born March 19, 1939, in San Augustine, Texas, to the late Mr. Q.B. Payne and Ms. Sally B. Lane. Betty was preceded in death by both of her parents and two brothers; James Nelsby and twin brother, Bobby Payne.

Betty leaves to cherish her loving memory: her two sons, Gerald (DeeDee) and Tyrone Twine, both of Jasper, Texas; one sister, Jearline George of San Fernando, California; special nephew, Bobby G. Payne, Jr. and Victor Payne of Jasper, Texas; special cousins Mary Ann Bean and Pat Perkins; and a host of other cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
