Obituary

Billy Toylor was born on October 23, 1953, in Jasper, Texas, to the late Frank and Beatrice Lucille Jones Toylor.

He attended Brookland High School. After school, Billy began mowing yards, did road work, and later moved into the steel industry. He spent time in Little Rock, Arkansas, and eventually finished his career in the concrete business as a finisher.

He met the love of his life, Deborah Koller, in Waco, Texas, and they married on September 24, 1982. They recently celebrated 43 years together and were very content.

The first twenty years of their marriage were spent living in various places. Work eventually brought them back to the family property in Brookland, Texas, where they devoted themselves to renovating the family homestead. With his knowledge of home repairs, carpentry became a valuable skill, and there was always a project to be done around the house.

During his free time, Billy loved hunting—providing food for his family was something he truly enjoyed. Anyone who knew Billy also knew how much he loved his 1986 SS Monte Carlo. The restoration project lasted nearly as long as his marriage and was often a humorous (and sometimes touchy) subject between him and Deborah.

In 2002, Billy and Deborah welcomed their beloved daughter, Lakiah (Tazz). From that moment on, she became the love of their lives. Billy affectionately called her his "Sugar Pudding," and she was the center of their world from then on.

While not feeling well for a few days, Billy decided to go outside and do some of the things he enjoyed. On October 10, 2025, he left the house and walked up the driveway. A short time later, he was found to have unexpectedly departed this life.

Billy was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Beatrice Lucille Toylor; his sister, Bertha Mae Pipkin; brothers, Charles Garrett and Oharold Brooks; and his maternal grandparents, Roosevelt and Bertha Mae Hunt, who raised him after his mother's passing.

Billy leaves to cherish his memory: his devoted wife, Deborah; daughter, Tazz; sister, Dorothy Washington; brother, Sanford Jones (Linda); and many nieces and nephews.

He is gone, yet never forgotten, for the years shared with him were filled with love and laughter. Special families—Wanetta Brooks and Thyatrica Young—played major roles in Billy's life, teaching him how to hunt deer, squirrel, and ride horses. Their bond remained strong until his passing.
