Obituary

Carl Edward Breed was born on March 21, 1949, in Kirbyville, Texas, to William and Hattie Breed. He graduated from West Kirbyville High School, where he was known as a track star. After high school, he spent a short time in Flint, Michigan, where he worked for General Motors. Carl was a member of Sunrise under the leadership of Reverend Benjamin Breed.

Known for his unique style and personality, Carl made an impression wherever he went. He earned the nickname "Cool Breed" for his eccentric fashion—always seen in matching shades, head scarves, and bags. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

Carl was preceded in death by his parents, William and Hattie Breed; his sisters, Ester V. Breed-Crockett and Erma Lee Minter; his brother, Robert L. Breed; his daughter, Tara Breed; and his granddaughter, Moniesha Riley.

He leaves to cherish his memory: one son, Marvis C. Farr (Butch Breed) and his wife Tonya; one daughter, LaTresha Smith; his brothers, Roy C. Breed (Lee Ester), Arthur L. Breed (Betty Sue), Albert L. Breed, and Stafford Breed (Debra); his grandchildren, Kadija, Joshua, Shakeem, Kameron, Darrius, Kendria, Chasity, D'Airyonta, Makyce, Tarvonion, Xarron, Xiomara, Kam'ron, and Trayon; and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, all of whom he loved dearly and shared a special bond with.
