Carolyn Joyce Moncrief was born to the late Robert and Mozell Freeman in Newton, Texas. She was married to the late Rudell Wright. In her early years, she professed her faith in Jesus and became a member at Liberty Chapel Christ Sanctified Holiness Church in Liberty Community under the leadership of Reverend Clyde Ray Davis, Sr. Carolyn attended school in Newton, Texas.

Carolyn worked at Kirby and Shady Acres, until her health failed. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, daughter, aunt, and friend.

Carolyn Moncrief departed this life on Thursday, October 27, 2022.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and siblings, Robert T. Freeman, Archie M. Freeman, Ernest W. Freeman, and Gwendolyn Y. Freeman.

She leaves to cherish her memories: her son, Robert Middleton (Sonya), and daughter, Bettey Vincent (Brandon), both residing in Houston, TX; two sisters, Girthie Freeman of Houston, TX, and Venestea Singleton (Kenneth) of Lufkin, TX; one brother, Jerry Freeman (Sandra) of Newton, TX; five grandkids, Sonique Middleton, Destiny Vincent, Rashaun Middleton, Diondra Vincent, and Jayden Oliver; two great-grandkids, Logan Vincent and Iyanna Traylor; a godson, Terrance Freeman; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
