Cassandra Lachea Grisby was born on October 27, 1976, in Jasper, Texas to Bobby Wayne Gordon and Mary Faye Grisby. Altogether, Cassandra had six sisters and two brothers. She was the youngest sibling.

Cassandra was reared in a home with a BIG family. At an early age, she was introduced to the Lord, and her faith in God was grounded. Cassandra was soon baptized and became a member of the Goodwill Baptist Chruch in Pineland, Texas.

Cassandra attended school at West Sabine in Pineland, Texas. After graduation, she obtained her CNA license and worked in the nursing and rehabilitation centers in Sabine, Jasper, and San Augustine counties for over 15 years. Devoting her time, energy, and compassion to many families and their loved ones was just one of her life's purposes.

Cassandra enjoyed shopping and working, but more than that, she enjoyed family. Her firstborn and twin daughter, Reshonda and her lil' man, her son, RaShawn, were her world. Second to them were, of course, her immediate family, extended family, and friends. Family parties and gatherings brought her great joy. She took pride in showing off her cooking skills for all to feast and eat. A mixture of her humor, jokes, smile, and laughter was always sprinkled in. That was her way of welcoming everyone. Cassandra's fiery passion, spontaneity, and giddy nature will always be remembered.

Cassandra departed this life on Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at her home. She was preceded in death by her father, Bobby Wayne Gordon; mother, Mary Faye Grisby; sisters, Lanora Grisby and Pamela Grisby; brother, Corey Galloway; nephew, Donovan Grisby; and uncle, Curtis Grisby.

She leaves to cherish her memory: daughter, Reshonda Grisby (Miguel Pleasant); son, Rashawn Grant; grandson, KeiMauni Grisby of Nacogdoches, TX; brother, Lee Roy Grisby; sisters, Stephanie Garrett (Broderick) of Beaumont, TX; Tamala Green (Ray) of Corrigan, TX, Erica and Bobbie Galloway of Houston, TX; three aunts, Shirley Hunt (Lee Edward) of Pineland, TX, Joyce Kegler (Bobby Don) of Pineland, TX, and Doris Grisby (Ray) of Hemphill, TX; two uncles, Donald Grisby of Hemphill, TX, and Travis Grisby (Elise) of Beaumont, TX; and a host of cousins, nephews, nieces, relatives, and friends.
