Christine White Carter was born on August 6, 1936, to the late Allie and Fletcher White in Jasper, Texas. She was the seventh child born. She was affectionately known as "Little Pudding." Christine professed her faith in Christ at an early age and was baptized. She was a very active member of Greater New Bethel Baptist Church. At an early age, she attended the Youth Encampment and the Lone Star District Association. Christine was a member of the Junior Choir, Adult Choir, and Mission Circle Number 1. She attended Sunday School, Baptist Training Union, and evening service. She served as secretary for Vacation Bible School and Sunday School. Christine was the first member to attend the National Convention in Chicago. During Black History month, she was honored as the "Unsung Shero" of the church. Christine served faithfully at Greater New Bethel Baptist Church.

Christine graduated from J. H. Rowe High School in 1954. After graduation, she attended Texas Southern University, Indiana University, and Texas College. Christine married the love of her life, the late Vander L. Carter, Sr. To this union, three children were born, Vander L. Carter, Jr., Christopher Carter, and Jesse Ordale Carter.

Christine was a paraprofessional for thirty years at Jasper ISD. The students loved her. She may have been short in statue, but she meant business in the classroom. She loved her job and put her heart into her work.

Christine always made you feel welcome in her home. The atmosphere was warm and inviting. The young ladies often admired her beautiful attire. She carried herself with such sass and grace—her heels, her jewelry, everything perfectly matched. She truly dressed to impress. Christine was a giver with a heart big enough for everyone. She always had a listening ear; you could call her any time, day or night, and she would be there. Everywhere she went, she spread love. She cherished the song "He Knows My Name," and she lived in a way that showed she believed it. Christine, you touched many lives, and we thank you. Your love, your style, and your spirit will never be forgotten.

Christine was preceded in death by her parents, Allie and Fletcher White; husband, Vander Carter, Sr.; son, Jesse Ordale Carter; siblings, Hubert White, Charles White, Doris White Huley, Ardella White Paul, Helen Rose White Brooks, and Mildred White Hicks; and daughter-in-love, Janice Carter.

Christine transitioned from her earthly home on November 18, 2025. She leaves to cherish her memories: two sons, Vander L. Carter, Jr., and Christopher Carter (Shelia); stepdaughter, Dorothy Fowler; grandchildren, Devonta Carter, Dominic Carter, Essence Seale, and Jerome Harris; great-grandchildren, Tristen Harris and Jeremiah Harris; godchildren, Mervin L. Cleveland, Jr., LaShondra Holmes, Whitney Holmes, Christian Holmes, Kelley Haynes Mendez, and Leigh Haynes; sisters-in-law, Kathy Greer (Kennedy), La Vern Carter (L. J. Carter), and Wanda Verette Carter (Clen); brothers-in-law, Oliver Crumedy (Sadie) and James Carter (Shelia); and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
