KIRBYVILLE

Obituary

We are gathered to honor a loving husband, great dad, proud grandfather, great grandfather, big brother, uncle, cousin and friend.  Clarence Thomas Jr, the son of the late Clarence Thomas, Sr and the late Teria Bluiett Thomas., was welcomed into the world on February 20, 1944 in Jamestown, TX.

He leaves to cherish in his memories, his devoted and loving wife Mollie Good Traylor Thomas of Kirbyville, TX. Two daughters, LaRonnia Gray (Johnton) of Jasper, TX, Felecia Thomas (Emmitt Hines) of Kirbyville, TX; one son, Deral Thomas of Flint Michigan. a grandson, Ashton Limbrick, Jasper, TX; two great-grandchildren; Alaunni and Ayden Limbrick, Jasper TX; brothers, James R. Thomas (Freida) of Lufkin, TX; Roy C. Thomas of Mount Union, TX. He also leaves a host of nephews, nieces, in-laws, cousins and friends.

He grew up in Mount Union, TX. He attended school at Walnut Hill and later graduated from West Kirbyville in 1962. He worked in the family logging business for numerous years. In 1976, he began a career at Goodyear Chemical Plant in Cheek TX, where he retired from in 2006. He was able to enjoy the fruits of his labor for 14 years. Clarence volunteered at the Kirbyville Christian Outreach Center (KCO); doing what he loved (helping others). He really loved hanging out at the local Brookshire Brothers where he and his group sat at the table solving all the problems of the world. He was a friend to the friendless, never met a stranger. The children thought he was a Santa Clause, he always had something special to give them. If you needed advice he was always readily to help or just have a listening ear. There are so many stories to tell. Wherever he went he always left a lasting impression. He was always picking and playing he was free-spirited man. He had numerous nicknames that he earned over the years by friends and associates, just to name a few "Big Cuz, Walking Tall, Chop-Chop, High Pockets and Jock. On any given day if asked by his daughter, who was this man? She was proudly saying that is my "HERO".
