Cleothra
Hafford
Jul 10, 1930 — Aug 8, 2026
Cleothra Adams Hafford "KEOKA," was born July 10, 1930, to the marital union of the late John Wesley and Katie D. Adams in Jamestown, Newton County, Texas. She was the second of eleven children. Keoka was about fourteen years old when the family relocated to Jasper, Texas, to what later became known as the Pineywoods Community. She would spend the remainder of her childhood there, and in time, she would build a life and a home of her own to raise her own family.
Keoka accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior early in life.
Keoka was a loving, hardworking woman whose life was devoted to caring for others. She spent many years caring for children, the elderly, and anyone in need, offering her time, strength, and compassion.
She was a pillar in her community and touched many lives through her kindness, generosity, cooking, and dedication. Whether caring for others or simply being there when needed, Keoka gave of herself wholeheartedly.
Above all, Keoka was a beloved mother, grandmother, family member, and friend. Her love, wisdom, and caring spirit will be deeply missed, but her memory will forever live on in all who knew her.
At the age of 96, Keoka leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and service. Her life was a beautiful example of trying to make a difference in the lives of others.
Keoka is preceded in death by: her parents; husband, Charlie Hafford; daughter, Ethel Adams; son in-love, John L. Renfro; five sisters, Abella Young, Mertie Harris, Joy Clursky, Pauline Chaney, and Vance Orr; and three brothers, Ertie Adams, Bobby Joe Adams, and Elder Roy Adams, Sr.
Left to cherish her memories are: her children, Della M. Renfro and Jessie B. Hadnot (Donald); sister, Roxana Bootie; brother, John D. Adams; grandchildren, Michelle Creswell (Clarance), LaDonna Adams, and Marcos Adams (Tametra); great-granddaughter, Shun'terrica Jones; great-great-grandsons, Za'khari, Za'Kyias, and Za'Kaylen Barclay; bonus great-grandsons, Ketrick Shankle, Jordon Young, and Sabin Bluitt; bonus great-great grandchildren, Baylee and Tyler Bluitt, Kenslei Bryant, Cordae Kenebrew, and Celine Young; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
Rest peacefully, Keoka. Your love and the lives you touched will never be forgotten.
