Coretta Lujenia Franks-Kenebrew was born on February 19, 1969, to Rayfield Franks and Rosetta Samuel Franks in Jasper, TX. They raised her in a small community called Dies, TX. She had four brothers and three sisters. She was preceded in death by her father Rayfield Franks and her sister, Vanessa Jones.

Coretta attended Elementary to High School in Woodville, TX, after graduating she later attended Lamar University then went to Angelina College to get her CNA. She went on to work at Dickerson Memorial Hospital for a few years, she eventually worked other jobs after leaving Dickerson Memorial Hospital. She got married to Robert Kenebrew on March 30, 1991; The two had four children together.

Coretta had the brightest personality and was a free spirit. She did not fear anything and had a fierce attitude. She was sweet to many people in her life and always put her kids first in anything. She will be remembered for being a great friend, sister, aunt, cousin and a loving mother.
