Curtis Ray Boatner Sr. was born June 29, 1945 to Abella Young and Leroy Boatner. Curtis attended attended J. H. Rowe High School. Curtis was united with Westside Church of Christ at an early age. He met and married Travis Ann Scott Boatner.

Curtis was united with Westside Church of Christ at an early age. He retired from logging as a saw man and then became employed with Martindale Land and Cattle Company until his death. Curtis loved hunting and being outdoors in his spare time.

He leaves to cherish his memories: his son, Curtis Boatner Jr.; six grandchildren, Curtis Boatner III, Lazionra Boatner, Beautiful Boatner, Selima Boatner, Shalom Boatner, and Miracle Boatner; three sister in laws, Tommie Runnels (William Jr.), Joe Helen Shankle, and Alice Garza (Kerry); four brother in laws; Wilbert Scott (Rosie), David Scott (Carolyn), Gary Scott (Amanda). A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and family and friends.
