Obituary

Entrepreneur and retiree from the City of Beaumont, Curtis Ray "Boo" McCulley's love of life didn't come to an end with his death. Curtis passed away on April 16, 2023, at the age of 73, surrounded by loved ones who will continue to honor his legacy by living their lives to the fullest.

In his early years, Curtis received his educational foundation in Kirbyville, Texas, where he was a graduate of West Kirbyville High School, class of 1967. He participated in various activities and demonstrated his love for basketball.

The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Curtis. He loved his family, his home, and his very own smoked BBQ. He had an uncanny ability to find happiness in his daily activities. His personality was contagious, and he left an imprint on everyone he encountered. From politicians to business owners to pastors, and to the everyday man, Curtis could relate to them all and create lasting friendships and bonds.

Protector, Husband, Father, Brother, Uncle, and Friend are just a few titles he carried during his time on Earth. We thank God for the time allowed and thank you for all the cherished memories as we strive to memorialize your legacy.

Those who preceded him in death were his parents J. W. "Duke" McCully and Gladys McCully; brothers, Roy L. Smith, George E. Smith, and Vernon McCully; and sister, Francis E. Walker.

Curtis will be deeply missed by all who loved him. He leaves cherished memories to: his loving and faithful wife, Emma McCulley; four daughters, Kimberly Pollock, Toya Pointer (Brandon Pointer), Jessica Gauthier (Kevin Gauthier), and Courtney Kyles; grandchildren, Aidan Kyles, Blake Pollock, Jaxon Bailee McCully, Katelyn Gauthier, Cameron Gauthier, and Khristian Gauthier; brothers, Carl McCulley, Welton McCully, Clyde McCulley, and Larry McCully; sister, Joyce McCully; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and other friends whom he loved. He is gone, but never forgotten.
