Dale Allen Finnels was born on December 18, 1964, in Houston, Texas, to the late Emma Johnson Holmes and Oddell Holmes. He was a proud graduate of Crosby High School, class of 1984.

Dale had a strong work ethic and held several jobs throughout his career. He worked for Brown and Root from 1985 to 1987, Prime Veck from 2013 to 2021, and also spent a short time working at The Turkey Leg Hut.

Known for his sense of humor, Dale loved being a jokester with his family, always bringing laughter to those around him. He was a man of conviction, often insisting that things be done his way, but that was part of the charm that made him uniquely Dale.

Dale departed this life on February 28, 2026. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends, and his memory will live on in the many stories and laughs he shared.

Dale was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings: Ruben Holmes, Timothy Finnels, Edna May, Ophelia Lewis, Dorothy Dixon, and Gloria Jones.

He leaves to cherish his memory Dessie Shepherd, Stephanie Jackson, and Sandra West, all of Baytown, Texas, Richard Finnels (Valleria) and Cavon Finnels (Shelia Coats), both of Barrett, Texas, Daniel Finnels (Shelia) of Kirbyville, Texas, and a host of nieces and nephews.

He also leaves beloved friend, Kathy Mallet; Michael Mallet and Myasis Mallet; and Harmony Powell, Serenity Powell, Malachi Powell, Leah Powell, Victory Powell, Peytiance Powell, and Makiah Mallet.
