Decorian Shaquile
Smith
Oct 20, 1993 — Sep 24, 2024
Call
On October 20, 1993 God blessed Joe and Felicia Smith with and energetic handsome son with a contagious smile. They named him DeCorian Shaquile, better known as Tu. He was born in Jasper, Texas, however the rest of his days he was 1004 PROUD.
Decorian joined Mt. Moriah Baptist Church at an early age under the leadership of Reverend JP Kelly. He later joined Antioch Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Denny Johnson.
Decorian attended public school in the Kirbyville Consolidate District. He was actively involved in football, baseball, and track. He was a proud graduate of the Wildcat Class of 2012. After graduation, he immediately became a responsible young man and entered the workforce. His first job was with Higman Marine for several years. He held many assignments while on the barge. For the past 8 years, he has been a valuable employee at Canal Barge. He was so proud of the life lessons he had learned and recently obtained his captain's license. He met coworkers that became more like brothers.
DeCorian loved to work, but what he loved more was family, his horses, and being close to any type of water. He often said that riding horses was his form of therapy.
On September 24, 2024, God dispatched an angel to the lake, touched DeCorian on his shoulder and returned him to his heavenly home. DeCorian was preceded in death by his grandmother, Mrs. Archie Smith.
DeCorian leaves to mourn his passing, parents whom loved him dearly, Joe and Felicia Smith; beloved son Daxton Joe; siblings, Jada and Jaden (Kailey); grandparents, Doris and Catherine Barnett; uncles, Erbie Smith, Charles Smith, Jimmy Smith, George Smith, David Barnett, Keith Barnett and Tyrone Barnett; and aunts, Naomi Smith, Althea Thomas, Latisha Jomes, Margo Barnett, Jessica Hawthorne, and Brandy Barnett. DeCorian was blessed to be loved by his nieces, cousins and his supported circle of friends.
