Dennis Ray Bennett was born August 15, 1970, to the late James Arthur Hunter and Sadie Ruth Fuller Bennett.

Dennis received his GED in 1988. He worked his early teen years in the woods with his Uncle Terry and Obediah Fuller. His later years were spent driving skidders and cutting wood for Chris and Jimmy Williams. Before getting down sick, he ran papers for Beaumont Enterprise.

Dennis joined Dewey Rose Baptist Church at an early age, in the 1990s. He later joined Antioch Missionary Baptist Church in Newton, TX, where he was a member until his passing.

Dennis was preceded in death by both parents; his first son, Dennis Jr.; and brothers, Charlie Bennett, Tom Bennett, and James Davis.

He leaves to mourn his death: two sons, Damion Bennett and Darius Bennett, both of Newton, Texas; a special nephew/ son, Roddrick Bennett (Jessica); four grandchildren, Whitney Bennett and Rayvon Bennett, Darius Jr., and Josiah Bennett; five brothers, Harley Traylor (Maeomie), Austin Glenn (Samaria), Russell Bennett (Debra), Rufus and Baby Ray Bennett; sisters, Ida Mae Garrett (Eric), Caroline Bennett Brown (Alfred), Ada Ruth White (Oscar), Hartha Horn (Randy), Joyce Ann Bennett, Sharon Bennett, and Shirley Kelley (Walter); and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles,
and friends.
