Derrick Richard Allen was born on January 19, 1985, in DeRidder, Louisiana to Kerry Allen and Phyllis Mark.

Derrick attended and graduated from Westbrook High School in Beaumont, Texas.

At a very young age, Derrick was a member of Faith Temple Church of God in Christ, Pastor Ray Lewis, in Jasper, TX until his early adult years.  He later moved and attended God's Way Ministry Holiness Church, Pastor Jane Vallian (Derrick's Mother-in-Law), in Beaumont, TX.

Derrick was married to Regina Allen, and they shared many wonderful years together.

Derrick's passion was truck driving, where he was employed with Daniel Moreaux's Trucking.  His biggest love was entertaining and spending time with his wife, Regina, and children.  He also enjoyed family gatherings, playing dominoes, fishing with his father, and thought he was the greatest B-B-Q Pitmaster ever.

Derrick was preceded in death by his son, Derrick Allen Jr.; grandfathers, Frank Chaney, Clarence Davis Allen; and father-in-law, Pastor Issac Vallian Jr.

He is survived by his wife, Regina Allen; children, Aniyah Allen, Carter Allen; step-daughter, Makayla Vallian, all of Beaumont, TX; his father, Kerry Allen (Lise) of Lake Charles, LA; his mother, Phyllis Mark (Donald) of Baytown, TX; brother, Kerry Crockett (Robyn) of Dallas, GA; sister, Kimberly Allen of Beaumont, TX; grandmothers, Rosie Lee Allen of Merryville, LA, Othea Jean Chaney of Newton, TX; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
