Obituary

II Timothy 7:8
I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith. Hence forth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteousness judge shall give to me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.

Diane Bennett was born to the late Joseph Tyler and Emma Lee Tyler on August 11, 1958 in Kirbyville, Texas. Diane graduated from Kirbyville High School in 1977. She later graduated from Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas in 1981 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Arts. Diane taught school for 32 years at the Newton Independent School District. She was a devoted teacher whom provided school supplies to needy children at
her own personal expense, going out of her way to ensure they could get the education they needed.

Diane became a Christian at a very young age and joined the New Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Kirbyville, Texas. She was a devoted life-long
member of the church. She assumed the role of secretary after the passing of her mother and held that position until her own passing. Diane pioneered the building of the new church currently located on Martin Luther King Blvd. She was also dedicated to sharing church history at annual programs.

Diane united in marriage to Melvin Bennett on August 5, 1989. What a wonderful marriage it was! They shared 31 years of marriage and had one son, Kelvin Bennett whom Diane truly cherished. Diane was a faithful and devoted wife and extremely family oriented. She was a mother to all the kids she encountered. Diane was a gentle and kind-hearted soul and devoted herself to family, church and community. Diane loved her grandsons
"sweetheart" and "sweetgums". She enjoyed sharing sweet tea with them and playing paw patrol.

Diane went home to be with the Lord on June 5, 2021. She leaves to cherish her memories: her devoted husband, Melvin Bennett; her son, Kelvin Bennett (Reanna Bennett); grandsons, Korvin and Kiyvin Bennett, faithful brother-in-law, Darwin Bennett, devoted sister-in-law, Linda Greenleaf,
devoted brother, Ronald Tyler (Mary Tyler, devoted sister, Brenda Tyler, devoted Aunt Johanna Shankle (Gauthry Shankle); devoted cousin, Lisa Jackson and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
