Obituary

Donald R. Thomas Jr. Was born to Donald Ray Thomas Sr. And Aline (West) Thomas on Feb.19, 1962 in Flint, Michigan in 1968. Donald's parents moved to Jasper, Texas and later settled in Jamestown, Texas.  He attended the Wiergate School District and had a strong upbringing in Church. While attending church Donald found joy in singing and eventually joined the choir. As an adult, he later joined and attended West Chapel Baptist Church.

He was well known and loved by many people all around. He was a mechanic by nature and enjoyed taking things apart and putting them back together again. He initially took over his father's concrete and logging company until he started his own concrete construction company where he continued to perfect his trade for decades.

During his journey, he met the love of his life and on May 6, 1978, they were joined together in marriage. They were blessed to share 43 years together, 8 children and 26 grandchildren. He loved cooking, fishing, hunting, playing checkers and going out to eat. He also enjoyed helping and spending time with his children and grandchildren while teaching different things that he thought was important. Later when his health declined, he spent most of his time with "Missy" his Queen! When you saw him, you saw her; his family was everything to him and there was nothing he wouldn't do for them.

Donald's life spoke for himself! He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, father-in-law, uncle, and a great friend.

Donald was preceded in death by his wife, Missouri Rogers Thomas, and other close family, Lonnie R. Thomas, Benneth D. Thomas, Ronald G. Thomas, and Antoinette Thomas.

He leaves to cherish in memory:  his children: LaQuinta Mattox, LaKeshia Thomas, Pastor LaDonyae Thomas, Dondarian Thomas (Wilshunta), Darmaine Thomas (LaPorchia), LaToyae Thomas, LaKreshia Thomas, and Donald Thomas lll (Krystle); 26 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; sister, Lillian Marie Sells; uncles, Vernon Thomas, Hallie Tolbert, Major Tolbert, and a host of other relatives and friends.
