Doris
Barnett
Apr 23, 1943 — Jul 30, 2026
Doris Miller Barnett was born on April 23, 1943, and he peacefully entered eternal rest on July 30, 2026.
A longtime resident of Kirbyville, Texas, Doris was known for his quiet, humble, and gentle spirit. He was a man who found joy in life's simple pleasures and never asked for much. One of his favorite pastimes was scratching lottery tickets, always hoping the next one would be the lucky one. His calm demeanor, humble heart, and quiet strength left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. He attended West Kirbyville High School.
He was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Loretta Cooper-Franks, his brother Calvin Earl Gosey, Freddie Lee Gosey and Clifton Franks; his cherished grandson, Decorian "Tutu" Smith along with other loved ones who welcome him into eternal rest.
He leaves to cherish his precious memories his children: David Barnett, Keith Barnett, Tyrone Barnett, Felicia Smith (Joe), Latisha Jones (Mike), and Brandy Barnett; his loving brother, Presley Franks and loving sisters Marie Goodjoint and Essie Brantley along with his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family, and many dear friends who will forever cherish the memories they shared with him.
Though Doris was a man of few words, his life spoke volumes through his humility, resilience, and quiet strength. He taught those around him that a person's character is not measured by how loud they are, but by the kindness they show and the way they treat others. His gentle presence and unwavering love for his family will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
Although our hearts are heavy with sorrow, we rejoice in knowing that his earthly journey is complete and that he now rests in the loving arms of the Lord. His legacy will continue to live in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
"Your life was a blessing, your memory a treasure. You are loved beyond words and missed beyond measure."
