Dorothy Jane (Boatner) Fowler was born in Newton County to Stanford and Etta Boatner on June 3, 1935.

Dorothy accepted Christ at an early age and attended New Mount Carmel Baptist Church in which she sung in the choir during her church attendance; she also attended the Word Church regularly before her declining health.

Dorothy graduated Wiergate High School in 1953, she was known as an excellent speller and for her heavenly voice.

Dorothy had a highly active employment history in which she worked for Gerland's Food Store owners for over 25 years and Intercontinental Airport during her earlier years of her life.

My beautiful mother loved to bake and spend time with her family. One thing for sure you could not leave her presence without one good laugh; she had the best sense of humor.

She was joined in holy matrimony with Abraham Fowler for 46 years.

Dorothy departed this life on September 15, 2020. She was preceded in death by her husband, Abraham Fowler; her daughter, Barbara Derousselle; two grandsons, Billy Derousselle and Isaac Mayes and one granddaughter, HowTina Cockrell.

She leaves to cherish her memories her children: Doris Brown, Brenda Jenkins, Vivica Fowler and Roshonda Forcha, siblings, grand-children, great-grand-children, host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
