Elworthy
Young
Jun 3, 1946 — Jun 7, 2025
"The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delighteth in his way.
Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the Lord upholdeth him with his hand." – Psalm 37:23-24 (KJV)
Elworthy Young was born on June 3, 1946, to the late Sarah Annie Mae and Val Young. He accepted Christ into his life and was a faithful and devoted member of Fredonia Baptist Church for many years. He was a dedicated attendee of Sunday School and remained spiritually committed, even as he began to face health challenges.
Elworthy graduated from Kerr High School in the Biloxi community. After graduation, he entered the logging industry, where he worked with dedication for many years.
Elworthy loved his immediate and extended family deeply. He especially enjoyed spending time with his nieces and nephews, sharing laughter, stories, and memories during many family gatherings over the years. He took pride in his appearance and carried himself with dignity wherever he went.
He departed this earthly life on June 7, 2025. Preceding him in death were his parents and three brothers: Wilbert J. Young, Earnest Young, and Roy Lee Young.
He leaves to cherish his precious memories: his loving sister, Bettie Ashworth of Bon Wier, Texas; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
A special thank you is extended to the Irene Jenkins family for their unwavering love and support. He considered you family.
