Erma Breed
Minter
Feb 12, 1941 — Jan 23, 2023
Erma Lee Minter was born on February 12, 1941, to William Breed and Hattie Breed. She attended school in West Kirbyville.
Erma was blessed with a loving and devoted family. She met and married James Minter on December 19, 1960, at Perkins Furniture Store in Jasper, Texas. God blessed them with six amazing children.
At an early age, she was immersed in Christianity and became a devoted member at Sunrise Baptist Missionary Church, under the leadership of Rev. Rollins. She continued her membership at Sunrise under the leadership of Rev. Benjamin Breed until her health failed her.
Aunt Erma Lee, as she was affectionately known by many, made an impression wherever she went. She was always the brightest star in the room with her dazzling smile. She was admired and respected by everyone who knew her for her delicious homemade dinners and desserts.
Erma was preceded in death by her father, William Breed; her mother, Hattie Breed; sister, Ester V. Breed-Crockett; brothers, Willie J. Breed and Robert L. Breed; and her adopted nephew, George Ervine.
She leaves to cherish her many memories: her loving husband of 62 years, James Minter; two daughters, Diana Hatfield and Letha Minter-Hughey (Bo); four sons, Ronald L. Minter, Dexter D. Minter (Joyce), Darward K. Minter, and Anthony W. Minter, Sr.; brothers, Arthur L. Breed (Betty Sue) of Orange, TX, Roy C. Breed (Lee Ester) of Flint, MI, Albert L. Breed of Flint, MI, Carl E. Breed of Beaumont, TX, and William S. Breed (Debra) of Bronwood, TX; 17 grandchildren, Daphne, Ne'Stosha, Deldrick, Antonio, Ryon, Nikki, DeAndrea, Desiree, Anthony, Jr., Brent, Brycton, Brysen, Jayla, Jacolbey, Ciara, Zachary, and Andrew; 15 great- grandchildren, DaKale, DeKayla, KaKaden, Clayton, Jasmine, Daisy, Daxton, Trinitee, Tristan, Nova, Sweet Pea, Landon, Henslee, Chasen James, and Braxton; and a plethora of nieces and nephews with whom she shared a special bond and loved dearly.
