Obituary

Evie Lee Sigger was born on December 28, 1938, in Tyler County, Texas, to the late Daniel (Dan) and Mary Lee Hadnot Rigsby. She was the eldest of three siblings, L. V. Rasberry, the late Missionary Idella Day, and the late Bro. Leo Rigsby.

She attended Henery T. Scott High School in Tyler County. In 1955, she married the love of her life Bro. Charlie D. Siggers and to this beautiful union three angels were born, J. C., Sherry, and James Rodney Siggers.

Around 1957, the family relocated to Jasper, Texas, where they united with Christ Holy Sanctified Church under the leadership of Bishop James Moss. She held several offices under the years as a member such as: church secretary, adult Sunday School teacher, and overseer of Vacation Bible School, to list just a few. Numerous changes occurred through the years, including the church name being changed to True Light Holiness INC. under the leadership of Bishop Cleo Hale. Her ministry went beyond her teachings, as she also graced us with her voice. During the early 70's, Minister Siggers; her two sisters, Sis. Idella Day alongside Sis. L V Rasberry; her spouse, Bro. Donnie Rasberry; Bro. Gene Grant, Sis. Ola Milton Joseph, Bro. John Wesley Moye, Jessie Brooks and Georgia Castle decided on a befitting name "The Glorious Bells" for such an amazing group of singers that traveled near and far, lifting up the name of Jesus for many years to come. Minister Siggers became a National Mother, National Counselor, National Secretary and Pastor of Huntington TLHC for several years. She was a faithful pastor of Huntington TLHC for many years, then Adams Chapel TLHC family was truly blessed beyond measures with such a dynamic pastor of God that lives the life she preached about each and every day of her life.

Minister Evie worked as a housekeeper, restaurant cook and for the Jasper Independant School District as a bus driver. Minister Siggers favorite colors were green and purple. Her hobbies included loving a good cup of coffee, whether it be 3:00 p.m. or 9:00 a.m. breakfast time; loving FAMILY get togethers – BBQ's; a good church service and singing; and traveling/vacationing with children and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charlie D. Siggers; sons, J C Siggers and James Siggers; and siblings, Leo Rigsby and Idella Day.

Minister Siggers leaves to forever cherish memories: daughter, Sherry Siggers Colson (James); sister, L V Rasberry;  three grandchildren, Chandace Siggers, LaTasha Lard-Smith, and Kevin Lard; eight great-grandchildren, Terrion Armstrong, Teshida Siggers, Tenaysia  Lard, Tecorin Curtis, T'Kaylee Lard, Tyreese Tennion, K. J. Lard, and Raven Young Tyler; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
