Obituary

"I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing." II Timothy 4:7-8

Faye Ethel Lane was born on February 9, 1932, to James and Nancy Hunter in Wiergate, Texas.

At an early age, Faye accepted God as Lord and Savior of her life. She moved to Jasper, Texas, and became a member of Evergreen Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Leo Daniel, Sr.

Faye attended Rowe School and graduated from Jasper Rowe High in 1950. She met and married her late husband, Charlie Lee Lane. They were parents to six children, Claude, Barbara, Alfedia, Rosa, Ora, and Kimberly.

Faye was employed at a local cleaner and retired after thirty-two years, but refused to stay in retirement; Shortly afterward, she decided to spend six years with Jasper Independent School District. She worked hard and taught her children to respect themselves and others. She loved people and would help anyone in need and didn't have to know them. Faye was a devoted wife, mother, grandma (known as granny), aunt, cousin, Godmother, and friend. She will be greatly missed by everyone who knows her.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charlie Lane; one son, Claude Edward Hunter; one daughter, Barbara Hunter Blake; and three sisters, Nancy Hunter, Ollie Hunter, and Ora Dee Hunter.

Faye leaves great memories to: four daughters, Alfredia Patricia Limbrick of Los Angeles, CA, Rosa (Ottis) Holmes of Houston, TX, Ora Nell Hunter of Beaumont, TX, and Kimberly Lane of Houston, TX; eight grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; godson, George "June Bug" McCloney; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
