Genita Smith Moye was born in Jasper, Texas, to Juanita Smith and the late Arthur W. Smith, Sr.

Genita attended school in Jasper and graduated from JH Rowe in 1969. After High School, she attended Job Corp and received a degree in drafting and cosmetology. Her special flair in cosmetology led her to open Genita's Beauty Shop, which was a successful business for over 30 years.

Genita had a love for God at an early age and was raised in the Rock Hill Baptist Church. Later in life, she joined the Faith Temple C.O.G.I.C., where she was an active and faithful member until her passing. Genita loved to serve and help others and enjoyed taking part in any ministry.

On May 21, 1994, Genita married the love of her life, Claudell Moye.

Genita had a love for many things, but she especially enjoyed singing, traveling, reading, writing poems, and spending time with her family. Genita was preceded in death by her father, Arthur W. Smith, Sr.; grandson, Nicholas Coulter; mother-in-law, Alma Moye; and a special friend, Patricia Johnson.

She leaves to cherish her loving memory: her loving husband, Claudell Moye; children, Chris Adams, Rodney Adams, Kiyo Moye, Rhadijah Moye, Najee Moye, Eric Moye (Revadia), Reginald Moye, Leiryc Moye, Rylee Moye; grandchildren, Celine Moye, Aliana DeDios, Princeton McCain, Ja'Borris Adams (April), Chesley Bush, Jaela Gipson, Jourdyn Moye, Braxton Moye, Bentley Moye, Ebony Taylor, LaNayzia Moye; great-grandson, Crispian Adams; goddaughter, Alexia Smith; mother, Juanita Smith; siblings, Arthur W. Smith, Jr. (Eva), Woodrow Smith (Linda), J.C.
