Obituary

On Saturday, October 4, 1953, in Jasper, Texas, Gloria Leach was born to Hugh Agor Leach Sr. and Pauline Horn Leach. On Saturday, August 23, 2025, she peacefully departed this life, surrounded by love.

Gloria attended J.H. Rowe High School and Jasper High School. She was baptized at Evergreen Baptist Church in Jasper, Texas.

Her greatest accomplishments in life were her children, whom she loved and cherished deeply. She later met Micheal Ray Glenn of Jasper, Texas, and together they built a family, raising their children until his passing.

During her adult years in Jasper, Gloria became a faithful member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend John D. Hardin. In her later years, after relocating to Texas City, Texas, she became a devoted member and usher at Greater Macedonia Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Xavery Hutcherson.

Gloria enjoyed a successful career with the American National Insurance Company of Galveston, TX; the University of Texas Medical Branch of Galveston, TX; and the Department of Health and Human Services of Jasper, TX.

Gloria was a devoted servant of the Lord until her health declined. She served faithfully as a church usher at both Mt. Olive and Greater Macedonia Baptist Churches. She was known as dependable, generous, and always willing to help with any need that arose. Gloria loved to cook and share meals with everyone, and she was a true staple in her community.

She will be greatly missed.

Gloria was preceded in death by her loving spouse, Micheal Ray Glenn; her parents; her brother, Hugh Agor Leach, Jr.; and her sister, Shy Haywood.

She leaves to cherish her memory: four children, Angela Leach Brown (Darrion) of Texas City, TX, Robert Leach (Terri) of Houston, TX, Darius Leach, and Micheal Leach of Houston, TX; her siblings, Sarah Leach Steward, Pauline E. Leach, Ernest Leach (Jessie), Cynthia Leach-Williams (Michael), and Paul Leach, all of Galveston County, TX; grandchildren, Janika and Jazmynne Padio of Galveston County, TX, MyKayla Leach, Robert Zachary Leach, Kiarra Cauley Young (Jonathan), all of Houston, TX, and Micheal Ray and Autumn Leach, both of Baytown, TX; six great-grandchildren; special cousins, Delphine Horn Thompson and Shirley Payne; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
