school with the class of 1983 and went on to attend Lamar University – Port
Arthur and received her cosmetology degree in 1985. She later returned and

Kirbyville, opened her beauty salon, and maintained it for over 20 years.
At an early age she joined Sunrise Missionary Baptist Church under the
leadership of Reverend Benjamin Breed. Later in life she joined New Life
Changers Christian Center under the leadership of Bishop Sammy Nash and
Lady Sharon Nash, where she served faithfully until her health no longer
permitted it.
