Joann Breckenridge Jackson was born the only child to the late Joe Breckenridge and Mary Webb Breckenridge on June 5, 1962, in Cleveland, Texas.

At an early age, Joann accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and united with the Evergreen Missionary Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir and worked with the youth. She later joined the Mount Olive Baptist
Church.

Joann received her early education in the Jasper public schools, graduating with the Jasper High School Class of 1980. She developed a love for children and went on to Stephen F. Austin College to receive her degree in Early Education, and later receiving her teacher's certification in reading and special education. She retired in 2015, as a first grade teacher with the Jasper Independent School district after 30 years of service.

Joann married Frederick Jackson and to this union three children were born: Frederick, Keith, and Jordan.

Joann was a people person with many friends. She could make anyone laugh with just a look. She loved fishing, cooking, and helping others. She also developed a love for electronics; she could piece things together to make them work. She was witty and active within the community and she enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

Joann was preceded in death by her father, Joe Breckenridge, grandparents, Zeltea and Samantha Webb, and Albert and Dora Woods Breckenridge; father-in-law, Elmo Jackson; and son, Keith Beatty Jackson.

Joann leaves to remember her life and spirit: her mother, Mary Breckenridge; mother-in-law, Ramona Jackson; children, Frederick and Jordan Jackson; bonus sister, Amanda Scott; and a host of other relatives and friends.
