John Derrick Adams was born October 31, 1986 to John Bruce and Shelia Devore Fowler in Newton, Texas.

Derrick attended Faith Temple COGIC at a very young age and there he participated in the Youth Choir. He then grew older and had two very special Pastors, Rev. Douglas Wright and Pastor Baker.

At the age of 27 Derrick met the love of his life, LaTonya Michelle Delane. He fell in love and then they married on April 20, 2014. Derrick then gave his heart to the Lord and joined Woods Memorial Temple COGIC, Pastor Chester Robinson, where he was a part of the Brotherhood and worked with the Youth and sang in the choir.

Derrick loved everyone and always called and checked on his loved ones.

Proceeding him in death was his grandparents, J.D. and Bobbie Fowler, L.W. and Jessie V. Adams; step grandfather, Emerson Fowler.e

On Saturday morning December 14, 2019 God called his faithful  servant to eternal res. He is survived by his wife LaTonya Michelle Adams; tow children: Joi Adams, Jaxson Adams; two bonus children: Jayden & Jade Delane all of Lufkin, Texas; His parents: John & Sheila Fowler, tow sisters, Whitney Limbrick (Walter) and Candace Fowler; two brothers, Valderick Fowler (Tracey) and Stephen Odom all of Jasper, Texas. Father & Mother In Law: Earnest & Brenda Delane of Lufkin, Texas; five sister in Laws, one brother in Law, a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles other relatives and friends.
