John Hamilton was born on November 15, 1965 to the late Cecil Hamilton and Bertha Hamilton in Jasper County. John attended Brookeland High School and graduated in 1984. After graduating he entered Guthrie Job Corps in Oklahoma and then moved to Dallas where he was employed by Tom Thumb and D & H Welding before moving back to Brookeland. John touched everyone with a warm smile and was a friend to everyone.

His father, Cecil Hamilton, sister, Maxine Holmes and brother, Orville Hamilton preceded him in death.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories his loving mother, Bertha Hamilton of Brookeland, Texas, seven sisters, Thyatria Young of Brookeland, Texas, Ruthie Hudson of Port Arthur, Texas, Cella Blevins of Texas City, Texas, Billie Grant, Rose Hamilton, Wilma (Otis) Silas all of Jasper, Texas and Sara Diggles of Mansfield, Texas. Eight brothers, Larry Baston of Pineland, Texas, William Hamilton, Jackie Hamilton, James Hamilton, Don Henry (Jeanette) and Paul Henry all of Brookeland, Texas, Jerry (Helen) Henry of Desoto, Texas and Marcus Henry of Dallas, Texas. He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, friends and a special friend Jimmy Johnson.
