Johnny Lee Grant was born to the late Calvin Grant Sr. and Mary Ella Brown Grant on April 7, 1942 in Jasper, Texas.

He married the love of his life, Eula Mae Bryant Grant, on January 25, 1965. He worked for many years at Hart's Lumber Company and later at Texas Electric Cooperative where he retired.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Eula Mae Bryant Grant; four brothers, Melvin Grant, Calvin Grant Jr., Ervin Grant and Auther Lee Grant.

He leaves to cherish his memories: one daughter/niece, Patricia Beaty (Steven); two brothers, Curtis Ray Grant of Jasper and James Grant (Faye) of Beaumont; four sisters, Mamie Warren of Port Arthur, Brenda Grant Mays, Debbie Grant and Mary Melissa Grant Beatty of Jasper; seven grandkids, Yaricka Garret (Nac), Devin Garrett of Richmond, Keyshawn Whitfield of Corrigan, Malcom Parker Sr., Kiara Whitfield, Monterio Whitfield, and Larry Whitfield of Jasper; his dog, Joseph Grant, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
