Obituary

"You are not forgotten, loved, nor will you ever be. As long as, life and memory last, we will remember thee."

Jonathan DeGarrion Valshun Tukes was born on March 31, 1998, to Ravel TaLove Tukes in Galveston,Texas.
Jonathan accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age. He was baptized and a member of the Faith Temple Church in Jasper. He was a graduated of the Westbrook High School in Beaumont, Texas, where he was a member of the ROTC program.

Jonathan enjoyed gaming and spending time with family and friends. Although he had many challenges in life, he maintained and persevered through it all. He was a fighter, strong in mind, body, and soul. He has moved to another place, and he leaves behind a legacy of joy and laughter to all who were blessed to know him.

On October 18, 2023, God sent his angels to take him home.

He was preceded in eternal rest by his biological mother, Ravel TaLove Tukes.

He leaves to cherish his memories: his mother, Monica Garrett; father, Ivory Garrett; grandmother, Atheldra "Sissy" Smith; three sisters, Victoria Tukes, Tenika McLemore (Wilbert), and LaRhonda Garrett; five brothers, Brandon Tukes, DeCarlos Anderson, Sr. (Seterria), Jermaine Anderson (Natasha), Malcolm Douglas, and Shareef Brown; special friend, Hannah McReynolds; and a host of foster siblings,
uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins, and other relatives and friends.

We thank God for allowing Jonathan to be in our lives, and though we will miss his presence, we know with certainty that being absent from the body is being present with the Lord.
