Keena Keri Brooks was born on April 18, 1986, in Newton, Texas to Prentice and Nettie Mae Bowie Brooks. Keena attended Burkeville Jr./Sr. High School for many years. Keena was determined to finish what she started and later graduated.  Keena was the loving mother of two children. Kay-Kay had a passion for poetry, African culture and the state of California. Kay- Kay often talked about her favorite place "the beach". Kay-Kay was never met a stranger and was loved by many.

Kay-Kay is proceeded in death by her Great-Grandfather, Luchie Bowie; Great-Grandmother, Susie Gasaway Mattox. Paternal Grandparents, Olice and Vera Lang Brooks; Maternal Grandmother, Edna Mae Bowie Jones; Godfather, A.J. McCarter.

Keena leaves to cherish her memories: A son, Zahdyn Brooks of Wiergate, Texas; daughter, Haivyn Fredieu of Wiergate, Texas; Parents, Prentice and Nettie Mae Brooks of Wiergate, Texas; brother, Patrick Bowie Sr. of Wiergate, Texas; sisters, LaShonda Brooks, Contessia Gunnels(David) of Wiergate, Texas; Tennille Smith of San Antonio, Texas; Deidre Brooks(Derrick) of Wiergate, Texas; LaToya Palmer(Joe) of Jasper, Texas; Godmother Emma Lee McCarter of Wiergate, Texas and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. She also leaves special friends LaKreshia Thomas, Tandya Smith, Latisha Stewart and Ethel Kay Ingram.
