Kendrick
Monroe
Aug 13, 1982 — Jul 23, 2025
Kendrick Monroe of Jasper, Texas, left us on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, at the age of 42. Kendrick was born in Galveston, Texas, to Felicia Monroe and Earick Adams. Kendrick was a beloved son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, grandson, and friend whose kindness, love, and contagious smile touched everyone who knew him. He had a natural gift for caring for animals, especially dogs, who brought him comfort and companionship. Kendrick was also a loyal Dallas Cowboys fan and proudly cheered on his team every season.
Kendrick united with the Beaumont Church of Christ early in life. He attended schools in the Jasper Independent School District and proudly graduated from Jasper High School in 2001. Kendrick spent much of his career working at Walmart and ExxonMobil, where he was known for his hardworking spirit and friendly demeanor, until his health declined.
Kendrick faced many trials and challenges in his life, but his strength, determination, and unshakable heart inspired everyone around him. No matter what he went through, he always carried a gentle spirit and deep love for the people in his life. He will always be remembered for his resilience, his kind heart, and his quiet, loyal presence. Though he is gone from our sight, his love will remain with us forever.
Kendrick loved his family deeply. He held a special bond with his mother, father, grandmother, brother, sisters, nieces, nephew, aunts, uncles, and many cousins—all of whom brought him great joy, strength, and pride throughout his life.
Kendrick was preceded in death by his beloved grandfathers, James Monroe, Sr., Freddie Adams, and Glenn Bronson; grandmother, Jessie Mae Monroe; and uncle, Donald R. Carter, Sr. Their memories live on in his heart and continue to inspire his family.
He leaves to mourn his precious mother, Felicia Monroe of Jasper, Texas; father, Earick Adams (Pamela) of Jasper, Texas; brother, Garmarvis Kellum (Elizabeth) of Jasper, Texas; sisters, Jasmine Adams, Erica Adams, and Brianna Brooks, all of Jasper, Texas; grandmothers, Annie Ray Bronson and Eva Mae Armstrong of Jasper, Texas; nieces, Ava Kellum, Chloe Beatty, Eliyah Kellum, and Gianna Kellum of Jasper, Texas; nephew, Major Beatty, also of Jasper, Texas; godbrother, Jaren Bronson; godsister, Tanaisha Collins of Jasper, Texas; and a host of special aunts, uncles, and cousins whom he loved dearly.
