Kenneth
Fillyaw
Feb 17, 1960 — Jul 9, 2025
Kenneth Wayne Fillyaw was born on February 17, 1960, in Jasper, Texas, to Houseton and Thelma Fillyaw. He was the fourth of seven children and a proud graduate of Jasper High School, Class of 1978.
Shortly after graduating, Kenneth relocated to Houston, Texas, where he began his career as a manager at Safeway Grocery. He later worked with Miller Brewing Company before joining the United States Postal Service as a truck driver. Kenneth served with dedication and pride in that role for 27 years, earning the respect of colleagues and the gratitude of those he served.
Kenneth, affectionately known as Kenny, met the love of his life, Beverly, in Jasper. The two were united in marriage and shared 42 wonderful years together. Their union was blessed with four beloved children: Koshea, Brian, Houseton, and Kamryn.
Kenny had a deep love for the outdoors and found great joy in hunting, fishing, and spending quality time with family and friends. More than anything, Kenny loved the Lord. He was baptized at a young age and faithfully served in the Lord's church. He was a devoted member of the Shady Acres and Westfield Churches of Christ, where he led singing and served diligently until his health declined.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, Houseton and Thelma Fillyaw; and his siblings, Kathy Lockhart, Roy Fillyaw, and Janice Bailey. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 42 years, Beverly Fillyaw; his children: Koshea (Tina) Randle, Brian Dennis, Houseton (Sakura) Fillyaw, and Kamryn Fillyaw; his siblings: Gene (Cynthia) Fillyaw Sr., Beverly (Curtis) Cauley, Shamarion (Quincy) Whitaker, and James (Karen) Fillyaw Sr.; his cherished grandchildren: Cha'Nia, Jaycie, Jaden, and Nailah; along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
Kenny's life was a testament to faith, love, and service. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew and loved him.
