Lallie B
Shankle
Jun 12, 1928 — Aug 4, 2024
Jasper
On June 12, 1928, a beautiful baby girl was born to Paul and Ophelia Adams, and they named her Lallie B. She was the fifth of eleven children. She was saved under the leadership of her beloved grandfather, Bishop James Moss, where she worshiped at the Moss Temple Christ Holy Sanctified Church until her death. She served as church mother, church treasurer, and mission president. She found her love in working with the Youth of the church, preparing the foundation needed for a life of prayer, worship, and leadership.
Mother Shankle was joined in holy matrimony to McRay Shankle for fifty-four years. To their union, five children were born: Thomas, Louisa, James, Larry, and Deidre, and a niece, Paula, who they raised as a daughter.
Mother Shankle was a faithful and devoted Christian that was very well known in her community. She attended J.H. Rowe High School and received her Texas Paraprofessional Certificate as an Educational Aide III on August 4, 1980. She worked faithfully for thirty-six years as a paraprofessional and material specialist for the Jasper Independent School District.
Mother Shankle was preceded in death by her husband, McRay; two sons, Thomas and Larry; and seven siblings. More than a wonderful
and dedicated leader in the church, she was an extraordinary wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, aunt, and trusted friend to all who knew and loved her.
She left a legacy and memories to be cherished by: her beautiful, loyal children, Louisa (Rufus), James (Glendell), Deidre, and Paula
(Victor); grandchildren, Tonnette, Daer, Ysidra (Roshane), James D., Jordyn (Kemp), Alexsia, (Eric) Michael, Desiree', LaThomas
(Betty), Destiny, and Antonio and Brandon; thirty-three great-grandchildren; eleven great-great-grandchildren; and a host of
nieces, nephews, cousins, church families, and friends.
