LaTonya Danielle McBride was born on April 17, 1980, to Alene Renae McBride and Michael Charles Rhodes Lewis.

As a child, LaTonya spent the first four years of her life growing up in the Shankleville Community. She grew up among her aunts and uncles, who were like siblings to her. Later, she moved to Jasper where she attended school and made it her home.

LaTonya was employed as a dedicated and devoted Certified Nurse's Aid. She worked in the field for many years until her health failed her in 2016. Her co-workers often boasted about what a good worker she was; something she learned from her grandparents.

LaTonya was a very loving, kindhearted, and generous person. She did not have much, but she was always willing to share what she had with her loved ones. She always put others' needs before her own. Her children and grandchildren were her pride and joy. She will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew her.

She was preceded in death by: her father, Michael Charles Rhodes Lewis; grandparents, Jimmy Lee McBride, Jerry Lewis, Jr., and Aster Lee Rhodes; uncles and aunts, Walter Herbert McBride, Dorothy Mattox, Doris Faye Lewis, Mary Joyce Odoms, Larry Odoms, Harry Odoms, and Betty Lewis.

LaTonya leaves to cherish her memory: Her children, Tevin Traylor McBride (Ellise), Taniah LaKia Bass (Geno), and Clifton Glen Bass, Jr. (CJ); life partner and special friend, Clifton Glen Bass, Sr.; grandchildren, Tevin McBride, Jr., Tiana McBride, Thomas McBride, Tahir McBride, Mia, and Zariha Shaw; mother, Alene McBride; siblings, DRodderick McBride (Tiffany), Nikita McBride, Kristen Griffin (Boderick); grandmother, Darnell McBride; step-grandmother, Janice McBride; uncle and father figure, Willie McBride, and a host of other relatives and friends.
