Obituary

Brother Lee Auther Sells "Dee" was born to the late Wallace sells, Jr. and Johnnie Mae Sells in Jasper, Texas on December 22, 1957. He was raised and resided in the Huff Creek community of Jasper, Texas until he was called home on November 18, 2023. Lee Auther dedicated his life to God at an early age and proceeded to devote his time to his family, community and anyone else that needed a helping hand. He was also a 5th degree black belt and master instructor. No matter where he was in life, he always put God first and foremost.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Wallace Sells Jr. and Johnnie Mae Sells.

Lee Auther loved the Lord, he loved his wife, he loved his children, he loved his family, and he loved to argue with anyone that dared face off with him. One of his favorite sayings "Yo kung fu ain't no good" would be the last thing you would hear before he smacked you in the back of the head, called you a sap-sucka and went down below the hill to tinker with them trucks.

Lee Auther joined Vanessa Jones in holy matrimony on July 14, 1978. To this union, they were blessed with two daughters.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Vanessa Sells of Jasper; to children, Jacquelyn Sells (David) and Daffney Porter (Ezekiel; 4 grandchildren: JaeKwon Falcon, Trinity Falcon, Aleena Porter and Arlee Porter. Lee is also survived by his siblings: Willie Addams (Edna), Charles Sells Sr.(Jeannette, Joyce sells, Johnnie Harris (James), John Sells Sr. (Janice), Marilyn Joiner (Barry), Chester Sells and Derrick Sells Sr. (Danielle) and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends.
