Linda Ann Beatty Collins was born on December 5, 1948, to the late Floyd Beatty and Ruby Mae Adams Beatty in Jasper, Texas. She was the second of seven siblings.

She attended J.H. Rowe and was a graduate of the Class of 1967. She was very supportive of the J.H. Rowe reunion.

Linda accepted Christ at an early age, being reared in a Christian home. She was baptized and a member of the Mount Olive Baptist Church, where she served as a choir member before her health failed.

She was joined in holy matrimony to Clinton Collins, Jr., for 58 years. During their marriage the couple welcomed and nurtured three sons, Brandal W. Collins, Terrance D. Collins, and Clinston L. Collins.

Linda was employed with Jasper Independent School District for 33 years of service. She retired in 2008 after her health began to fail. She loved, nurtured, and was dedicated to many children.

On Monday, March 2, 2026, Linda was called home by God to receive her heavenly wings.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Floyd Beatty and Ruby Mae Beatty; sisters, Margie D. Riley, Floydester Carter, and Margaret Wiggins; brothers, Ronald Beatty and Charles Beatty; and nephews, Derrick Beatty and Chaddrick Beatty.

Linda leaves to cherish her memories: her husband, Clinton Collins, Jr.; three sons, Brandal W. Collins (Angela), Terrance D. Collins, and Clinston L. Collins (Janet); grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one brother, Joe A. Beatty; one aunt, Ramona Jackson; sisters-in-love, Jessie F. Barnes and Gwendolyn Collins-Gilbert; brother-in-law, Clyde Williams; bonus daughter, Penny McCarter; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
