Obituary

Linnie Vee McQueen Parker was born on November 9, 1945, to Archie King and Ouida McQueen. She attended school in Jasper, Texas. She accepted Christ at a young age. She brought joy to her family and friends. She also enjoyed cooking, decorating, and caring for children in her home until her health started to fail. She shared over 50 years of her life with her belated husband, James Parker.

The race is not yours, it's the Lord's! On July 19, 2026, our dear beloved Linnie was called home by God to receive her Heavenly Wings. She fought a good fight, and she will truly be missed. She was preceded in death by her late mother, Ouida McQueen Land; late father, Archie King; one sister, Mary Alice Land; two brothers, Charles Glenn and Bobby Lee Jackson; and three sons, Jerry Lee Lane, Harvey Terrell Brumley, and Kenny Ray Brumley.

She leaves to cherish her memories: her children, Bobbie Scott (William) and Lucky Brumley (Carolyn); a bonus son, Anthony Haywood; and two special grandchildren, Johnavious Horton and Jurnee Horton, all of College Station, TX; a sister, Patricia McQueen; and brother, Willie Jackson of Jasper, TX; a host of grand, great, and great-great grandchildren; a special niece, Toshunna McQueen of Spring, TX; best friend/cousin, Alice Hickman of Jasper, TX; two special friends, Barbie Romero of College Station, TX, and Mae Helen Crawford of Houston, TX; and nieces, nephews, cousins, and other friends!
