L.J. Carter passed away on Monday, August 9, 2021. He was born to the late Jessie and Nora Ruth McQueen Carter in Call, Texas.

L.J., was employed by Owen's Illinois Lumber Company and retired from Louisiana Pacific after 35 years of service.

L.J., was preceded in death by his loving parents, brothers, Carl Carter, Virgil Carter, Vander Carter, and Tommy Carter; sisters, Clara Carter, Jessie Mae Monroe, and Sadie Francis Crumedy; and stepson, Shelton Hadnot.

L.J., leaves to cherish his memories: wife, Emma Laverne Carter; son, Larry James Carter; stepdaughter, Vera Palmer (Julian); sister, Katherine Greer (Kennedy); two brothers, James (Shelia) Carter and Lester Carter; four grandsons, Kerwin (Laiora) Hadnot, Dondre (Jasmine) Hadnot, La'Varris Carter, and Dre'Darrian Hadnot; two bonus grandsons, Julian Palmer, Jr., and Romeo Palmer; one bonus granddaughter, Jatavia Hadnot; two great-granddaughters, Eiress Hadnot and Avarii Palmer; two great-grandsons, Jordan Hadnot and Ace Hadnot; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
