Obituary

Louis James Adams was born on November 14, 1948, to the late Granson and Willie Mae Adams in Jasper, TX. He accepted Christ at an early age in his life.

He was a graduate of J. H. Rowe, class of 1967. After completing high school, he then went on to receive a degree in telecommunications from Tyler College.

On September 31, 1978, Louis married Leah Williams whom he loved and cherished for 44 years until his death. To this union two sons were born.

Louis then went to work for ATT/South-Western Bell where he retired after 30 years in 2000. After his retirement, he went on to do carpentry work, which was his passion. He also worked several years as a correctional officer, where he made many friends. Louis had a very loving heart, especially for his grandkids; he was always there whenever anyone needed him whether family, friends, or coworkers.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Willie Mae Adams; father, Granson Adams; brothers, William Adams, Nathaniel Perkins, and Frank; and daughter, Yolanda Michelle Smith Lute.

Louis leaves to cherish his loving memory: his wife, Leah Adams; sons, Darrel Adams (DAundrea) and Kenzie Adams (DiRhonda); grandchildren, Keneisha, Sjontavious, Jaleigha, Dazarrion, Kylar, Kellen, Amar'e, Mason Louis, Khalil, Paizley, Nyla, and Kaia; brother, Henry Adams (Verona); special friend, Willie Irvin; sisters-in-law, Joyce, Ethel, Karen; brother-in-law, Lester (Jackie); and a host of nieces, nephews, uncles, and aunts.
