Mable attended and graduated from Kerr High School. She went on to receive her master's at Prairie View A&M University and then began teaching at the State School in Crockett, TX.

Mable married Curtis McKnight in 1972. To this union, three children were born: Corey, Porsha, and Kelley.

Mable taught every grade imaginable at Bleakwood Elementary School. After the closing of that school, she was transferred to Newton ISD, where she retired.  In 2017, she remarried Arthur Bennett.

Mable departed this earth on July 1, 2022, surrounded by her family.

Mable was preceded in death by her mother and father, Corene and Theodore Samuel, Sr.; brother, Theodore Samuel, Jr.; sister, Lois Taylor; and son, Corey McKnight.

Her memories will be cherished by her husband, Arthur Bennet; son, Kelley McKnight (Tiffany); daughter, Porsha Marino (Sam); grandsons, Braylen and Kai; granddaughters, MaKaela, Havyn, Alexah, Mia, and Gabrella; brothers, Earnest Samuel, Jimmy Samuel, and Eugene Samuel; sisters, Shirley Adams (Sammy), Rosetta Franks, and Willie Mae Bennett; special friend, Roxanne Laza; and a host of nieces and nephews.
