The Legacy of Michael Scott, Sr.

“Let not your heart be troubled, ye believe in God believe also in me”. John 14: 1

Michael “Mike” Scott was the fifth of 8 children born to the late F.C. and Lenora Scott. From an early age he was surrounded by family, faith and the community.

He attended J.H. Rowe School from elementary through high school and graduated in 1962. Mike joined Moore Chapel Christian Methodist Episcopal Church under the Pastorage of E. H. Strong at a young age, beginning a lifelong connection with his faith community.

During his early years, Mike held several positions, including work at Richardson Hospital and Henderson Drug Store. In 1966, Mike moved to San Antonio, Texas and went to work for the San Antonio Light Newspaper.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Don L. Scott Sr. and Warren Scott; three sisters, Marilyn Jones, Reba Scott and Gwen Sherman.

He leaves to cherish his memories two sons, Michael Scott Jr. and Anthony Scott (Jacqueline); sister Sherry Wilson (Major); brother Joel Scott (JoAnne); 11 grandchildren,12 great grandchildren and host of nieces, nephews cousins and friends.
