Mildred Hafford
Williams
Apr 9, 1941 — Sep 7, 2025
Mrs. Mildred D. Williams, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, peacefully departed this life on Sunday morning, September 7, 2025, at 3:10 a.m. at Southeast Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston, Texas. She was 79 years old.
Mildred was born in Pineland, Texas, to Clydine Woods and Mr. Hafford. She was preceded in death by her husband, Milton Williams, and both of her parents.
A graduate of J. H. Rowe Jasper High School, Mildred carried with her both intelligence and resilience. After high school, she married Milton Williams, and together they raised six children. She made her home in Lufkin, Texas, before later settling in Grand Prairie, Texas.
Mildred lived a quiet and simple life, yet her presence was deeply felt. She loved music, especially the timeless songs of Aretha Franklin. She also enjoyed Western movies, reading, and most of all, spending time with her family. Her wisdom and strength touched many—she even taught her daughter how to master her nursing math.
Mildred leaves behind six loving children: daughters Felicia J. Williams of Fort Worth, Texas; Freda Malone of Dallas, Texas; and Deniza Williams of Carrollton, Texas; and sons Vernon Williams of Ferris, Texas (who also spent time in Jasper), Cedric Williams of Grand Prairie, Texas; and Chadwick Williams of Arlington, Texas.
She is also survived by her siblings: one sister, Mary Carter of Grand Prairie, Texas; and seven brothers—Clyde (Cheryl) Seastrunk of Longview, Texas; John (Joyce) Taylor of Jasper, Texas; Winston (Lucy) Taylor of Grand Prairie, Texas; Sherman (Kimberly) Taylor of Ft. Myers, Florida; Carl (Donna) Taylor of Beaumont, Texas; Julian Taylor of Grand Prairie, Texas; and Lynn Taylor of Lovelady, Texas.
Her legacy continues through her 12–13 grandchildren, 7–11 great-grandchildren, and 2 young great-great-grandchildren, as well as in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless friends.
Though Mildred's earthly journey has ended, her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. She will be remembered for her strength, her love of music, and her unwavering devotion to family.
