On July 8, 1939, Mittie Marie Alfred was born to Roy Land and Meller Weise Morris-Land.

Mittie Marie graduated from West Side Kirbyville High School in 1961.

On November 4, 1961, Mittie Marie united in marriage with John Dobie Alfred. Four children were born to this union: Dennis O'Neal Alfred of Kirbyville, Texas, Angela Marie Farr of Missouri City, Texas, Renitha Yvette Gay (Benjamin) of Beaumont, Texas, and the late Dale DeWayne Alfred who preceded her in death in 2003.

Mittie Marie had five grandchildren, Brendan LaShain, Broderick DeJuan, Niah Trichelle, Stephen O'Neal (Raveen), and Mya Marie Alfred. In addition, she has eight great-grandchildren. Mitte Marie was one of nine children. Her surviving siblings are Dora Cheatham of Phoenix, Arizona, Katherine Samuel of Alvin, Texas, Freddie Lewis (Coston) of Magnolia Springs, Texas, Evelyn Land of Kirbyville, Texas, Arlisa Mattox of Arlington, Texas and Elouise Land of Austin, Texas. Two siblings, Ella Mae and EJ, preceded her in death.

Mitte Marie also has a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives, and dear friends.
