Mozell
Barnett
Jan 10, 1941 — Nov 14, 2022
Kirbyville
Mozell was born on January 10, 1941, to the late Moses and Victoria Barnett in Magnolia Springs, Texas. In 1958, he was involved in a tragic accident that left him with disabilities, and even with those disabilities, he managed to graduate from Walnut High School in 1960.
He accepted Christ at an early age under the leadership of Evangelist Horace Simon, and later he united with the Magnolia Springs Church of God in Christ in 1960. He moved to Houston, Texas, where he united with Mt. Zion Church of God in Christ under the leadership of Bishop R. B. Bolton. With his disabilities, he worked for various pipe yard companies there in Houston, Texas, for approximately 10 years until his health began to fail.
Later he moved back to Magnolia Springs and reunited with the Magnolia Springs Church of God in Christ under the leadership of Pastor Jeffery Adams until his health failed again.
He was blessed with a son, Darius Barnett, and two granddaughters, Alexis Barnett and Trinity Taylor Barnett. He was also blessed with five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, three sisters, and five brothers.
He leaves to mourn: three sisters and three brothers, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
