Henson
Jun 13, 1958 — Sep 14, 2025
Sister Nancy Jane Henson
was born on June 13, 1958, in Hemphill, Texas, to the late Roosevelt and Addie Henson. Life came to a close for her on September 14, 2025, in Monroe, Louisiana.
Nancy attended Hemphill High School and graduated in 1976. After high school, she moved to Houston, Texas, where she worked for M.D. Anderson Hospital for many years before returning home to East Texas.
She later worked for Hemphill Care Center as a Certified Nursing Aide. She also served as a home health provider and private sitter. Nancy had a passion for helping others and never met a stranger. She loved talking about God and the Bible to anyone who would listen. She truly was a good Christian woman.
Nancy was a faithful member of Macedonia Baptist Church for many years, where she sang in the choir and served as a Mission Sister until her passing.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Roosevelt and Addie Henson; sisters, Dorothy Parks, Willie Jean Limbrick, and Willie Faye Bell; brother, Tommy Lee Henson; niece, Dorothy Maxine Anthony; and nephew, Darris Henson.
She leaves to cherish her memory: her daughter, ILasheika (Herbert) Sigler of Tyler, Texas; son, Willis Washington of Hemphill, Texas; brothers, Charles (Rebecca) Henson and Edward C. Sr. (Kathleen) Henson; sisters, Darlean Thomas and Martha (H.K.) Johnson, both of Hemphill, Texas; grandchildren, Dre'Lyn Washington, Ka'Lyn Sigler, and Anaiyah Washington; a special friend, Mrs. Bobbie Grace; and a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives, and friends.
